Day One
Well I decided to take a leap of faith today... an expensive one... so let's hope it works.
I am seeing a naturopath for IV neurotransmitter restoration therapy. It's supposed to help depression, anxiety, addictions, etc. I experience all of the above so before I give in to antidepressants, I have decided to give this a try. It involves getting a four hour IV cocktail of amino acids and vitamins and minerals daily for twelve days straight. It will be boring, I'm sure, but I'm hoping for some big changes.
Today was day one.
I went in with lots of anxiety, my usual depression, and ed has been out in full force lately. The iv part wasn't too bad. The only hard part for me is sitting there for hours. I'm used to moving around doing things and I found it very hard to sit. Ed plays a major part in that uncomfortable feeling though. He tells me I will gain weight if I sit around all day. Anyways, I felt very sleepy during the session, Afterwards I haven't been feeling too well either. I am exhausted. I don't remember being this tired for a long time. I've also had a headache all afternoon and evening. I'm not sure if these are initial side effects that will wear off, but I will find out when I go back in tomorrow. Mood wise I haven't noticed much of a difference yet, but she told me I wouldn't for about three days. I did feel fairly decent immediately after though so that gives me some hope.
